A "Big Thank You" from LUGC

Tuesday 15th May 2018

It was a fantastic event and all at the club went out of their way to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The course was a credit to your Greens staff and your House team looked after us extremely well in the lounge. Please convey these thanks to all who helped to make the event successful.

On the topic of this weekend’s competitions, it would be remiss of me not to mention the appearance of our course. I’m sure we all remember the torrential rain that fell last Monday resulting in the course being closed for 4 days. I was so impressed with the way that a) our course had held up to the dreadful conditions through the week and b) the beautiful way in which our course was presented. The tee-boxes, greens and bunkers were pleasing on-the-eye from every angle and it made me proud in my stomach of the club that I represent. Huge thanks go to Nigel and his team and the Green Team for their hard work under difficult circumstances. I eagerly anticipate to see what they can produce given some favourable weather conditions *fingers crossed*

Hello again WGC Members

Well this blog is going to be a quick and short one as work seem to be getting in the way

Although we have had some good weather the green staff have still had to battle against some horrendous rain, but never the less they are doing a sterling job in keeping the course looking great

I know this is short notice but please remember that it is presentation night on Friday the 27th at 7.30pm. Could all winners 2nd and 3rd place winners please try to be present

Invitation day is on the 5th May and there are still plenty of prime time’s available.

Bank holiday shotgun start still has plenty of available times so let’s get as many names down and fill these slots.

Also with competitions in mind we must congratulate the Ladies team on their game against Bury G.C. in the Bell Cup, this is there equivalent of the Dunham Trophy, after a hard fought game they emerged as 4/3 victors ( Well done ladies.!!! )

Speaking of the Dunham Trophy, our lads have an away match tonight at Greenmount G C (BL8 4LH),  if you can spare the time please nip down and spur them on. (5.00 pm-ish start time)

That’s all for now guys

Happy Golfing !!!

Captain Stardust.
